ANTIQUE VICTORIAN AUSTRO HUNGARIAN GARNET & TURQUOISE NECKLACE Silver Enamel

Beautiful antique Victorian Austro Hungarian garnet and turquoise necklace, circa 1880. Good condition including perfect good quality stones. The centre is set with a blood red oval garnet measuring 10 x 8 mm. Iconic Austro Hungarian design with filigree reverse, and black and white fleur de lys enamel work to the front.

The necklace is made from unmarked silver with a gilt wash. In my opinion, originally a brooch which has been converted to a pendant sometime in it's history.

Traces of brooch fittings to the reverse. The pendant measures 1.75 x 1.75 ins. The necklace measures 17.75 ins.

Bolt ring spring action fastener. Total weight is 20.6 gms.

Excellent condition including perfect and all original stones. Minor enamel defects, barely worthy of note.
